5 Simple Ways to Show Gratitude During the Holidays

It’s December, and you know what that means! The holiday season is finally here, which means it is probably a busy time for your event planning business. Even though you have many tasks at hand, let’s discuss some simple ways to show gratitude to your clients and your team – even if you are a team of one. After all, a little bit of gratitude goes a long way in strengthening the relationships with people who matter to you. Plus, embodying the feeling of gratitude can help you set the right intentions for 2019. Without further ado, let’s dive in.

Have a Holiday Potluck With Your Team

Bonding over a meal with your team is one of the simplest ways to have fun and express your appreciation for one another. Here’s a pro tip to begin your dinner planning:

Make sure to send a Google form to your team 2 weeks in advance to ask about dietary restrictions/allergies. You can also ask your team to make a small label if their dish contains nuts, dairy, etc.

Meaningful Thank You Cards

The holiday season is the busiest time of the year, and gratitude cards can be a wonderful way to let your team members and your clients know just how much you appreciate them. You can use a site such as Canva to quickly create cute thank you cards for your team. Remember to acknowledge them in a special way as your make those cards. You can mail or email the cards- you have plenty of options! When giving the cards to your team, you can even place them on their desk or presenting them at the friendsgiving potluck *wink wink*.

Pamper Yourself

If you are the only member of your event planning team, you can still show thanks to a very special someone – yourself! It’s so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of having your own business that you forget to take time to recharge and relax. Whether you choose to take a paint and sip class, get a pedicure, or order takeout for an at home movie night, take some time to do an activity that will bring you comfort. You can even use Groupon to find ideas and deals for various activities you can try.

Social Media Posts

Social media is a great cost-effective way to show gratitude to your clients, vendors, followers, and community, since they are extended members of your team. Post photos from successful events you had throughout the year and show gratitude to those who brought the occasion to life. It’s especially important to thank your followers, because they are the ones who share and engage with your content. Making an instagram live video is a great way to share your gratitude on a more personal level. Get creative and have fun with your posts!

Have a Canned Food Drive

Everyone deserves to have a hearty meal, and you can assist in making this accessible to the members in your community. You can set up a simple donation table in your office and encourage your team members to donate various food cans. If you want to do a larger canned food drive, collaborate with a local church, school, or business. This allows you to increase the amount of people you are able to assist and engage in team building simultaneously. Remember to publicize your event on social media, in your newsletters, and a sign at your office to encourage more donations.
